At the age of 16, many American kids trade in two wheels for four. Trusty steeds that once gave them freedom to explore on weekends now collect dust in the garage. For a growing number of high school students in Northern California, however, two wheels don't get dusty, they get dirty. Their lives continue to revolve around weekend rides, but now those rides have a finish line. These are the student athletes of the NorCal High School Cycling League. This is Singletrack High.
The NorCal High School Cycling League:
The NorCal High School Cycling League is a 501(c) 3 organization and was founded in 2001 to provide competitive mountain biking programs for students in grades 9 to 12. With the cooperation of many volunteers, our partners, and our sponsors we are able to provide high quality mountain racing experience. Regardless of ability level, the NorCal League is committed to providing a positive experience for all student-athletes.
The League is committed to teaching smart riding practices. We believe forming high school teams is the best way for students to learn how to ride in a thoughtful and controlled manner. To learn excellent riding technique or learn how to teach these skills, join our next rider camp or Leaders’ Summit.
